VANADIS

Vanadium was named after Vanadis, the goddess of beauty in Scandinavian mythology, [‘Goddess of the Vanir’. One of Freyja’s names]. The name was given by Nils Gabriel Sefstrom. Vanadinite is a very beautiful, deep red mineral, contains vanadium and was named after Vanadis for its beauty.
