It straightens us out and helpsus to do what is right."
From 2 Timothy 3, 16-17

Jesus also said, "Blessed are all who hearthe Word of God and put it into practice."
Luke 11,28

In John 11, 25, Jesus tells us ..."Anyone who believes in me, even though hedies like anyone else, shall live again. He isgiven eternal life for believing in me andshall never perish."

PRAYER
O Lord, the wisdom of Your Word
I'll value more than gold,
For it can bring joy and strength
To both the young & old.

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a real blessing

WE ARE GOD'S FAMILY
We are all God's children and very special to Him. We become part of his family of Christians at our BAPTISM. God loves us with an everlasting love.

WHY DID GOD MAKE US? You were created and chosen by God - to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world and then be happy with Him forever in Heaven.

God tells us in the bible ...
"I will never forget you, I have carved you in the palm of my hand ... I have called you by name ... You are mine, you are precious to Me. I love you."
Based on Is. 49:16 and Is. 43 (1,4)

Prayer of Thanksgiving
Loving God, I thank you for the gift of life. Guide me so that I may use my life wisely, with love, kindness and care for others.

HOLY COMMUNION
I am the Living Bread, come down from Heaven. He who eats this bread shall live forever
"I am the Living Bread which comes down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever for the bread that I give is my flesh for the life of the world."
John 6, 51

Jesus comes to us under the appearance of a small white host which really becomes His Body at the consecration of the Mass, and the wine becomes His precious Blood.
When the priest holds the host up high and then the chalice, We know that Jesus has come.
When we receive the consecrated host from the priest at communion, we are receiving our Blessed Lord. Holy Communion helps us to grow strong, happy and good.
After Communion we can say:
Jesus I adore You, I love You and I thank you for coming to me. Please help me to love you always and not to hurt you through sin. Please forgive all those who do not love you and teach me how to be kind and gentle like You. Stay with me always. Amen

An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary was going to have a baby boy who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and the baby's name was to be Jesus.
The angel told Joseph to take care of them and "Joseph woke and did what the angel told him to do." see Matt 1 (21-25)
Because of Joseph's FAITH, HOPE and LOVE, God chose him to be the foster father of His Son, Jesus.

Act of Faith
O My God, I believe that You are three persons in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe Your Son, Jesus, came down on earth as a man. I believe He taught us the truths of our faith, and I believe He died for our sins and opened the gates of Heaven.

Act of Hope
O my God, because You are so good and kind, I can have hope that You forgive me when I sin. I also hope in Your promise of life everlasting because of Jesus who saved us.

Act of Love
O My God, I love You more than anything else. I love You with my whole heart, my soul, my mind and my body. I will also love my neighbour as myself because You want us to love and forgive one another.

THE PRESENTATION OF JESUS
After the birth of a Jewish child, the parents were required to go to the temple and offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving
THE PRESENTATION
Joseph and Mary brought Jesus to thetemple in Jerusalem to present him to theLord. While they were there, a holy old mannamed Simeon saw them and was moved bythe Holy Spirit and he said:
"I have seen the Saviour the Lord hasgiven to the world. He is the Light thatwill shine upon the nations and he willbe the glory of your people." Paraphrased from Luke 2 (29,30)

JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLDLET HIS LIGHT SHINE ON YOU PRAYER
May God grant you always ...
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel
So nothing can harm you ...
Laughter to cheer you,
Faithful friends near you
And whenever you pray, Heaven to hear you.

I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD - John 10,11
JESUS - THE GOOD SHEPHERD
There were many shepherds in the time of Jesus, who lovingly looked after their sheep and would take care of all their needs. The shepherds would lead them to grassy fields to eat and, using a strong stick called a staff, would protect the sheep from being attacked by wolves.
Psalm 23 tells us that God looks after us like a Good Shepherd.
Here is a simple version of Ps. 23
The Lord is my shepherd so I have everything I need! He helps me relax as if I were in quiet f eld or beside a still lake. With Him in my life I feel peaceful and loved.
$y following Him, I stay on the right path. But even in times of darkness and gloom, I am not afraid. Because, with His rod and staff, He protects and guards me as His little lamb.
The Lord prepares a wonderful banquet for me and pours out blessings upon me. His goodness and kindness will be with me throughout my life here on earth. Then, afterwards. I shall live forever with Him, in His home called Heaven.

Time spent in prayer is never a waste of time. It is a time of blessing - a time with God
PRAYER
The apostles asked Jesus how to pray and He taught them the "Our Father" which we should say every day. Jesus also said:
"When you pray, go to your room and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father in that secret place and your Father, who sees all that is done in secret, will reward you." Matt. 6, vs. 6
We can pray when we wake up each day
THE MORNING OFFERING
God, Our Father, I give to You this day, My thoughts, my words, my work, my play. Everything I do, I offer up to you. Bless them all and bless me too. Amen
We can also say short prayers quietly to ourselves anytime during the day. Some of them are: * Sacred Heart of Jesus, I put my trust in you. * Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all, I love you. * Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you! Save souls. * Jesus, sweet and humble of heart, Please make my heart more like yours. * Holy family, protect my family. * Jesus, I love You, I praise You and I thank You.

His Sorrow was Her sorrow

OUR LADY OF SORROWS
The mother of Jesus stood by her Son during His suffering at the crucifixion, sharing His pain and sorrow. As she held Him in her arms after He had died, she felt as if her heart was broken.
For centuries Mary has been known by the title, "Our Lady of Sorrows" or "Mother of Sorrows" for she experienced the pain that people have to go through when they care for a loved one who is sick or dying.
The church especially remembers Seven Sorrows of Mary

The Traditional Seven Sorrows of Mary
The Prophecy of Simeon (Lk 2:27-35)
The Flight into Egypt (Mt 2:13-15)
The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Lk 2:43-51)
Mary Meets Jesus Carrying His Cross
(Lk 23:27)
Mary Stands Beneath the Cross of Jesus (Jn 19:25-27)
Mary Receives the Dead Body of Jesus (Jn 19:38)
Jesus Is Laid in the Tomb (Jn 19:39-42)

I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will never die
JESUS IS ALIVE
It was early Sunday morning when Jesus came back to life and the first person who saw Him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom He had cast seven demons. Mark 16 (8,9)
Jesus surprised and frightened the apostles when He first appeared to them because they had a hard time believing he had really come back to life. (See Luke 24, vs. 36) The apostle John even tells us that the risen Jesus cooked breakfast for the apostles after helping them miraculously catch a net load of fish. (see John's gospel, Chapter 21)

The Resurrection of Jesus gave the apostles HOPE and JOY.
Memorize these words of St. Paul's in Roman's 12(12) "If you have hope, that will make you cheerful. Don't give up when trials come and keep on praying."
Remember:
Because Jesus came back to life,
We know His promises are true.
What He teaches, you should know,
It will bring everlasting life to you.

Come Holy Spirit
PENTECOST
The apostles were gathered together in the Upper Room, praying with Mary when: suddenly there was a sound like the roaring of a mighty wind and what looked like tongues of fire appeared and settled on their heads. Everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit. Paraphrased from Acts 2, (2,3)
From then on the apostles were not afraid and went about the world, teaching the people about Jesus.

THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
