The Lord is close to the brokenhearted He helps those whose spirit is crushed
Psalm 34 [17,18]

From Psalm 70
God, come to my help. Lord, quickly give me assistance. You are the one who helps me and sets me free.

Your True Friend
When your heart is sad and lonely, And your friends seem far away,
Turn to Him Who is all holy And He'll drive your cares away.
When a dear one seems to fail you, When for friendship true you long,
Confide in Him Who is All True And He'll right your every wrong.
Jesus' heart is your true refuge. To Him you can always flee.
Even when your hopes are sinking, He will then a True Friend be.
He'll soothe your lonely spirit,
He will love and bless and say:
"Come to me and I will comfort You Today and every day"

Jesus, Mary and Joseph are called The Holy Family because they loved each other the way God wants us to love and they followed the ways of God in all that they did. They are example for our own families to imitate.

Holy Mary, our heavenly mother, pray for us and all the families of the world. Help us to be gentle and kind like you. Help us to love Jesus as you did.
Blessed St. Joseph, you were the guardian of Jesus and Mary, Watch over our family too. Help us to live together with hope and prayer. Help us to be faithful like you.

"I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand over ready to enter the presence of the glory of the Lord"
Tobit 12[15]
Raphael an Archangel, is mentioned in the bible story of Tobit, a man who went blind and was cured through the help of Raphael. Before going back to Heaven, Archangel Raphael gave this advice:
Bless God and praise Him for all the favours He has given you. Never tire of giving Him thanks. Do what is good and no evil can befall you. Those who commit sin and do evil, bring harm on themselves. Do not be afraid. Bless God forever. From Tobit, 12 (6-17)

PRAYER
Angels of God, all you mighty spirits of wisdom and truth, energize my mind that I may comprehend God's loving plan for me.
Angels of God, all you gracious spirits of peace and joy, enlighten my thinking that I may accept the gifts of God for me each day.
Angels of God, all you powerful protectors of God's holy will, guide my decisions that I may enter into the awareness of your loving presence, now and forever. Amen.
From the book "Angel Power" by Janice Connell

If we take time to help the poor, we will be helping Jesus. Don't pass him by

Jesus, told the people: "I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed me; naked and you clothed me; sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me". When the people wondered how this could be, Jesus told them - In so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me. Taken from Matt. 25 (35-46) Don't pass Him by, help others whenever you can, because, in the end, at the Last Judgement, we will be judged on how we have treated other people.
Jesus also told us how to "BE" good in the Beatitudes.

THE BEATITUDES
1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
2. Blessed are those who are sad, for they shall be comforted.
3. Blessed are the mild and gentle, for they shall inherit the land.
4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be filled.
5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 6. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 7. Blessed are those who make peace, for they shall be called the children of God.
8. Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right for heaven will be theirs.

... whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant; whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your slave
Matthew 20:26,27

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
At the Last Supper Jesus did the job that only the servant of the household would do in those times. He washed the disciples feet, (dirty from their travels outdoors in sandals) and He wiped them dry with a towel.
He did this to give them an example to copy (see John 13:15) He wanted to teach us that we, as Christians, are to help one another. We are the ones who should not demand to be waited on but be there to wait on others.
Give Lavishly! Live Abundantly! The more you give, the more you get - The more you laugh, the less you fret - The more you do unselfishly, The more you live abundantly ... The more of everything you share, The more you'll always have to spare - The more you love, the more you'll find That life is good and friends are kind ... For only what we give away, Enriches us from day to day.

Jesus suffered and died for us. When we take time to remember his passion and death, we honour HIm and learn to appreciate the pain that He endured so that we could go to heaven. It is one way of telling Jesus that we love Him.
The Catholic church has a devotion called The Stations of the Cross. It is a good thing to say these stations either in a church, at school or at home, especially during Lent.

HOW TO SAY THE STATIONS; Say the name of the station, then say: "We adore You 0 Christ and we praise You, Because of Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world." Think about His suffering for a short while then say a "Hail Mary" and go on to the next station.

Stations of the Cross
1. Pilate Condemns Jesus to Die.
2. Jesus Accepts His Cross.
3. Jesus Falls for the First Time. 4. Jesus Meets His Mother.
5. Simon Helps Carry the Cross.
6. Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus. 7. Jesus Falls the Second Time. 8. Jesus Speaks to the Women.
9. Jesus Falls the Third Time.
10. Jesus is Stripped of His Garments.
11, Jesus is Nailed to the Cross.
12. Jesus Dies on the Cross.
13. Jesus is Taken From the Cross.
14. Jesus is Laid in the Tomb.
"Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing" Luke 23:34

Much prayer, Much power
Little prayer, Little power
No prayer, No power
PRAYER
Words from Mother Teresa:
My secret is a very simple one: I pray. To pray to Christ is to love Him. I am asked what one is to do to make sure they are following the way to salvation. I answer: "Love God and above all pray." Praying the Our Father and living it will lead us towards saintliness. The Our Father contains everything: God, ourselves, our neighbours.
Mother Teresa has a great devotion and love of Mary, the Mother of God. One of the prayers she and her coworkers say every day is this: "Mary, Mother of Jesus, give me your heart, so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate, so full of love and humility that I may receive Jesus in the Bread of Life, love Him as you loved Him and serve Him in the distressing disguise of the poorest of the poor." Amen

A nun named Sr. Faustina who lived in the early 1900's in Poland, was gifted with messages from The Lord which she kept in a diary.
Jesus wanted the world to know that He has "unfathomable mercy and compassion for sinners" and He told Sr. Faustina, "I want aching mankind to come close to my merciful heart, and I will fill them with peace."
Jesus also asked that we say this prayer called a Chaplet, using the beads of the Rosary. He promised that, "Even the most hardened sinner, if he recites this Chaplet even once, will receive grace from my infinite Mercy."

The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy
Begin with: Our Father ... Hail Mary ... The Apostles' Creed.
Then, on the Our Father Beads you will say the following words: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
On the Hail Mary Beads you will say the following words: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
When finished say, three times: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
(From the Diary of Blessed Faustina, 476) Sr. Faustina was canonized a Saint by Pope John Paul II on April 30, 2000
